Baby swimming with Water Babies is an exciting, enriching experience for both you and your little one. Not only does it teach vital life skills, but it also enhances the way babies and toddlers learn other skills, too. No one else reaches our high standards of professionalism, and no one else works harder to make sure you and your little one feel happy and safe. And we always incorporate lots of bonding, fun and socialising, so you can be sure that a Water Baby is a happy baby!
Classes across Scotland North East are run by Suzie Harrold, whose face lights up as she remembers her dogged determination to be in the water as a child. “My parents just couldn’t keep me out,” she laughs. From paddling in the sea at 9 months old to swimming competitively as a teenager (sweeping the board with her wins) – and everything in between!
Suzie grew up overseas before moving back to Scotland to train as a physiotherapist, where she met her husband. When baby Angus was born in 2009, she wasted no time in signing up for Water Babies classes – and loved it so much that she trained as a baby-swim teacher, teaching all her lessons in her spare time (now that’s what we call dedication!).
“Water Babies was — and still is — the highlight of my week,” she says, “both as a mum and as a teacher. I get such a thrill from watching the babies as they progress – I feel this is what I was born to do!”
Angus now has a little brother, Rory, and the whole family love nothing more than swimming together at their local pool.
The wonderfully enthusiastic Jenni is the friendly voice in the office along with Hayley, Steph and Liz, and Jill while a team of highly qualified teachers completes the Water Babies crew. They’d love to hear from you, so why not give them a call? Or check out the banter on the Water Babies Scotland Facebook page.
