Work with Water Babies

Are you a pool operator, manager or owner? We want to hear from you!
Water Babies teaches over 47,000 babies and toddlers in over 500 pools across the UK every week and we’re always looking for new partners and venues to swim in.
Water Babies are the world’s largest baby swimming company, teaching more than 47,000 babies and toddlers to swim every week, operating in five countries on three continents. We passionately believe all children should learn to swim from as early an age as possible so they can learn a skill for life, bond with their parents and, should they ever fall in water, have the best possible chance of surviving.
We are more than just baby swimming, and we’re always looking for additional water space for our rapidly growing provision of lessons.

Why work with us?
Our experience of swimming across the globe means we know what works and can help your venue with practical knowledge.
Working with over 500 pools across the UK means we understand many different pool set-ups, including hydro pools, school pools, hotels, leisure centres and private pools.

We offer support for improved customer and membership retention
Our customers are interested in the benefits of keeping fit and leading an active lifestyle, we find customers like to join the clubs in which they swim, so they can continue taking their children to the same pool outside of lessons.
Secondary spend
It’s more than likely our customers will use your services during their time on-site (gym, café, vending machines, drinks dispensers), directly providing you with an associated secondary spend.
Additional revenue from a reliable partner
We will provide all of the site specific health and safety policies to ensure that we integrate our classes into your environment seamlessly. We offer in-house pools, facilities and safety technical support through our full-time National Pools and Facilities Manager, who can provide expert advice on any issues relating to safety and operations.
We offer strong client management
We’re here to support you every step of the way along your Water Babies We ensure our customers smoothly integrate into your environment. We also have uniformed “Meeters & Greeters” on site at many lessons to direct clients and remind them of your rules and regulations, which negates the need for any additional staff being required by our partner.
We work around your schedules
Water Babies classes are often during off peak times, these being the periods in the day which wouldn’t usually generate income for pool operators.

Community support, engagement, outreach and enrichment
At Water Babies, our Head Office and local franchisees are dedicated to actively supporting and enriching the local community. We collaborate with pools and organisations to offer a variety of initiatives such as training courses for students, job opportunities, and a diverse range of pool activities beyond swimming lessons, including aqua natal and water aerobics.
Our goal is to alleviate the operational stress of school facilities and enhance the lives of our customers, staff, pupils, and the broader community. If you have a pool that could benefit from support through a local Water Babies franchisee or our head office and expert network, we’d love to hear from you. Please email us at [email protected].
At Water Babies we actively seek partnerships to support facilities in need of refurbishment, such as school pools. Through collaboration, we aim to keep pools open for existing lessons while generating additional income through hire, lease, or dual-use agreements in partnership with the local franchisee. Together, we can ensure these valuable resources continue to benefit the community.

Key benefits
Highest industry standards
Water Babies is passionate about quality standards and we were the technical authors for the British Standards PAS 520. You are safe in the knowledge that our lessons are safe and standards are high. Our teachers are among the highest trained teachers in the world – they are the only ones who can achieve the Swim England level 3 Teaching Pre-School Swimming (Advanced) qualification – the highest qualification available from the national governing body of the sport. In addition all local offices hold a current Pool Plant Operator Qualification.
Reliable Partner
We provide additional revenue from a reliable partner. We can take guaranteed hours from you, which can help offset your running costs. We are prompt and reliable payers; you will never have to chase an invoice with us.
We are adaptable
We work around your schedules. Water Babies classes are often run in traditionally ‘off peak’ times. Whilst weekend time is premium for us, we’re also able to take on time during weekday daytimes, which is often when facilities are at their quietest times. We will bring everything we need with us, and take it all away again after our sessions, meaning that we won’t need to use any of your equipment. All of our equipment is subjected to a rigorous cleaning schedule to ensure it’s safe for little ones to use.
Customer acquisition
We find that often families who swim with us at a particular pool end up carrying on into the mainstream lesson provision offered by the facility. We effectively act as a customer acquisition tool for your lessons. Our lessons compliment what you offer already – we are usually a different price point to mainstream lessons.
It’s more than likely that our customers will use your services during their time on-site (gym, cafe, vending machines, drinks dispensers), directly providing you with an associated secondary spend. Those organisations who we have partnered with nationally have reported a significant increase in secondary spend from our customers.
We’ve also found that our customers often go on to join the facilities they swim at and many operators have seen a good take up of gym membership from Water Babies families.
Support & guidance
We will provide all the health and safety policies (site specific) to ensure that we integrate our classes into your environment seamlessly. We offer in-house pools, facilities and safety technical support through our full-time National Pools and Facilities Manager, who can provide expert advice on any issues relating to safety and operations.
Water Babies sits on the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (“PWTAG”) industry forum, And we are supported by a network of experts who have the ability to review plant rooms where we can work collaboratively to improve water quality if required.
Swimming pool water can inactivate the Covid-19 virus in just 30 seconds under the right conditions. The study by virologists at Imperial College London was commissioned by Water Babies, Swim England, Spatex Foundation and RLSS UK.
Strong customer guidance
We ensure that our customers integrate seamlessly into your environment. We use meet & greeters with new classes to help show customers where to change, where to put their belongings, and to remind them of any local rules & regulations specific to your facility.
We insist on a double nappy system, where every child wears a paper or disposable undernappy, with a neoprene ‘Happy Nappy’ on top. These are designed to reduce the chances of leakages into the pool water, keeping everything in!
Pool temperature
- We can work around most set ups, whether a lane, sectioned off area, or whole pool
- We’re happy to look at any available space and see how we can make it work
- We are used to working around other user groups and often share the pool with the general public or facility members.
Ideally we need water temperature at 30 degrees plus. While we can teach older children in 29 degrees, it’s often not financially viable for us to just run early years lessons without babies, so we prefer 30 degrees or over. The maximum temperature we can run lessons in is 35 degrees.
Insurance
All Water Babies franchise businesses are fully insured by AXA AL Insurance and have Employer’s Liability and Professional Indemnity policies and the limit is set at £10 million. This means that Water Babies are insured at all facilities where we deliver classes, negating the need for the pool location worrying about liability for the actions of Water Babies staff using its facilities.

What do customers think of us?
“I just want to say a huge thank you. My swimmer Finn has just arrived home with his Daddy. He is bouncing about telling me about his wonderful lesson with Emer.
My husband is telling me all about the precautions in place to keep everyone safe. You have thought of everything from the changing room protocol to the baskets of toys for each child.
Absolutely fantastic!”
Kelly, Mum to Finn age 2

“Archie has been swimming with Water Babies for the past 3 years, and started when he was 16 weeks old. We have felt completely safe going back to our classes since lockdown and Archie has absolutely loved being back in the water.
The office staff and our teacher have gone above and beyond to make sure they put our children and our safety first. We’re really happy to be back and can’t wait until our teacher can be back in the pool with us as well!”
