We’re delighted to announce that our co-founder, Paul Thompson, has been elected as a Full Board member of the British Franchise Association for 2018 - one of the most senior roles in UK franchising.
He is one of 12 directors on the BFA Board and the only one from the leisure industry, sitting alongside representatives from other franchise giants such as McDonald’s, Bluebird Care and Signs Express.
“To go from our inception around a kitchen table in Ilkley, Yorkshire in 2002 to the top table in British franchising shows what an incredible journey everyone at Water Babies has been on, Paul says.
“Water Babies is a real example of what can be achieved through a franchise model. From our British roots, Water Babies classes now take place in Ireland, The Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand and China and last year, we reached the huge landmark of 52,000 weekly clients.
“We were truly honoured to be awarded the 2016 British Franchisor of the Year Award, and this now marks another step forward in our evolution. Franchising can be a powerful mechanism of growth for British business and we look forward to lending our voice and experience to benefit this huge sector.”
Well done, Paul – we’re super-proud of you!
