Baby swimming with Water Babies is an exciting, enriching experience for both you and your little one. Not only does it teach vital life skills, but it also enhances the way babies and toddlers learn other skills, too. No one else reaches our high standards of professionalism, and no one else works harder to make sure you and your little one feel happy and safe. And we always incorporate lots of bonding, fun and socialising, so you can be sure that a Water Baby is a happy baby!
Classes across Surrey East & Crawley are run by Nicky O’Connor, who was first introduced to Water Babies in 2014 when she started her swimming journey with her elder daughter, Eloise.
Nicky’s had an avid love of swimming since early childhood – surreptitiously jumping off the 10m board at just 4 years old, her parents had trouble keeping her out of the water! Then, while at 6th form college she channelled her love of swimming to teaching 3-12 year-old youngsters.
So when Eloise came along, and Nicky & husband James were looking for a bonding activity to do that was also fun, Nicky didn’t need any convincing about the joys of baby swimming. “Eloise loved the water from day one,” Nicky recalls. “In fact, it’s fair to say she was a real water baby! And because James is the one in the water with Eloise, her Water Babies lessons have become their special one-to-one time every week.”
When the opportunity arose to train as a Water Babies teacher later that year, Nicky didn’t hesitate. Then in March 2016, baby Frankie arrived and started her own swimming journey at around 6 weeks old. “Frankie was a little more cautious to start with,” says Nicky, “but she soon grew to love it just as much as her elder sister, and now there’s no stopping her!”
Nicky has a true passion for all things baby swimming: “I can’t wait to be there with you every step – or should I say, kick – of your Water Babies journey!” She’s joined in the office by the wonderfully enthusiastic Fay and Charlotte; and in the pool by a team of highly qualified teachers, who complete the Water Babies crew.
They'd love to hear from you, so why not give them a call? Or check out the banter on the Water Babies Surrey East Facebook page.
