Baby swimming with Water Babies is an exciting, enriching experience for both you and your little one. Not only does it teach vital life skills, but it also enhances the way babies and toddlers learn other skills, too. No one else reaches our high standards of professionalism, and no one else works harder to make sure you and your little one feel happy and safe. And we always incorporate lots of bonding, fun and socialising, so you can be sure that a Water Baby is a happy baby!
Classes in London South East are run by Sarah Ashton who, as a child on the Isle of Man, spent many happy summer days on the beach – apart from the times when it was raining. “Whatever the weather, mum would have us down there,” she recalls. At 18, she left for Manchester to study clothing management & technology. However, after graduating she decided to see the world.
Following 7 years spent travelling and working in Hong Kong, Sarah came back to the UK, where she most recently worked as operations manager for a marketing agency. There, she was responsible for producing McDonald’s ‘Happy Meal’ toys – five hundred million of them, to be precise!
It was through her daughter Hannah Lily, born in 2007, that Sarah was introduced to baby-swimming. “It was something we both really loved, and the thought of doing it as a business always stayed with me. Now that I’m actually doing it, I’m really excited! Becoming self-employed is a completely different mindset for me, but it’s good to scare yourself once in a while!” (Apparently the last time she scared herself was when she jumped out of a plane at 12,000 feet. Water Babies should be a doddle by comparison!).
The wonderfully enthusiastic Louise, Sarah, Maisie and Jo are the friendly voices in the office, while a team of highly qualified teachers completes the Water Babies crew. You can find them on Facebook at Water Babies (SE London), where you'll find a warm welcome waiting for you.
