From simply enjoying summer holidays & school residentials to paddle boarding and water polo, we believe that every child and family should have the opportunity to experience water based activities safely. Finn’s Swim School have expert instructors that build the foundations by teaching respect for water, water safety skills and teaching each individual to swim to the best of their ability.

Lessons run term time and are supported by holiday intensive courses, and whilst we teach safety skills throughout we also have a termly focused lesson on water safety.

In addition, swimming is a brilliant form of physical exercise for little ones (and grownups) because it engages almost all muscle groups in the body. This is just one of the reasons it’s so beneficial but it also means its very energy demanding. To help our little ones get the most out of their swimming, we need to make sure we fuel them properly – both before and after.

About Us

Finn’s Swim School was originally founded in 1992 under the trading name Floaters and has taught over 8000 swimmers in that time, using the Swim Care programme created by Nicholas & Charlotte Loxton.

The swim school changed hands to Vicki Steven in 2022 following the retirement of the Loxton’s, and they have been delighted to retain many of the original teaching team and swimmers. As the school has developed so has the name and we proudly relaunched as Finn’s Swim School, with the same strong foundations created by Floaters.

Our teaching team are continuously developing and we are proud to have extended the safety programme further along with fresh ideas for developing swim strokes whilst retaining the fun element to build the love of water.
