Your baby can begin swimming just as soon as you are ready to bring them. Our youngest client was just two days old (the niece of an instructor!) but most babies start at around six weeks.

It might sound crazy, but many of our offices operate waiting lists, so it's absolutely worth putting your name down whilst you're still pregnant. (And we'll leave a gap for the baby's name and DOB!)

All of the pools in which we operate are heated to 30° or above. However, babies under 12 weeks old or 12 lbs in weight still need to begin lessons in a hydrotherapy or extra warm-water pool. But don't worry about this. Your local office will ensure you've got the right pool when booking you on.

Does the Person Bringing Them Need to Be Able to Swim?
The short answer to this is, no. We have taught hundreds of parents and carers who range from slightly lacking confidence in the water to being outright terrified! The water is always shallow enough to stand up in and you don't ever have to go underwater unless you want to.
