As Alison Ogden listened to one of her best friends raving about Water Babies classes, she was struck by how good lessons would be for her own son, Thomas. She was so disappointed that there were no classes available locally that she decided to start her own. So the eternally plucky lass left behind a successful career in marketing, and in October 2005 Water Babies in Liverpool was born.
A couple of years later, Thomas was joined in the pool by the newest addition to the family, little brother William - where they can still often both be found happily playing, together with dad Mark.
Since starting, the company has literally rocketed and now teaches more than 1,000 babies a week. Despite her love of teaching, Alison cannot survive on chlorine alone, so she has been delighted to welcome to the team a veritable bevvy of instructors: Lynn Kelly, Lindsey McKenna, Julie Wilkinson, Kerry Payne-Wass and Carolyn McGuire, joined in both office and pool by the wonderfully talented administrating instructor, Fay Nearey together with the ever-friendly voice on the other end of the phone Jeanette Scott and the efficiently enthusiastic Carolyn Bardwell.
